Dear Diary...
Haha, yeah right.
Ok, I got this idea from the Vault Dweller, my great grand-uncle, or something. He basically made a jounal of his journeys in Southern Old California and it seemed like a good idea. I'm just glad I remembered to back up that info on a holodisk before I went and deleted them off his old Pip-Boy here.
Long story short, The Vault Dweller wore this suit when he took down the Master and scattered the Super Mutant army. During all those things he did, he recorded a journal in his Pip-Boy, which is connected to the Vault 13 jumpsuit.
I've read most of the old disks, so I think I pretty much know how this all started. See, about 160 years ago, there were these 'countries' and they had a big war and used 'nuclear weapons' on one another. I'm not sure what those two words mean, but the nuclear weapons messed up a whole bunch of things. Apparently plants, animals, and even people aren't the same. Then there is the radioactive goo sometimes left over (green glowing stuff, be sure not to drink it) and invisible radiation. We've seen radiation sickness before in Arroyo, so it's not really new to us.
The 'government' of the 'country' where Old California is a part of was called the United States. They made these big underground 'Vaults'. They were basically shelters to keep the nuclear weapons out, and most of them worked well. We're actually betting our lives that Vault 13 still exists, in fact.
They put people in these vaults and sealed them up. After 80 years in Vault 13, their waterchip broke, and that's when my great grand-uncle had to go out looking for a new one. That's pretty much where his stories start.
Again, long story short, when he ended up saving the world from some bad stuff. You'll have to read his disks for that stuff. As for me though, I'm basically his family after that event. Turns out, after he goes and saves they world, they kicked him out of the Vault. That's cool though, cause if he hadn't come up here with a bunch of rejects from Vault 13, I wouldn't even be here.
I guess that's where I come in.
So, I guess I'll introduce myself. I'm Mavor, descendant of the Vault Dweller. My day has been pretty long so far...writing this log for example was one thing.
The Temple of Trials is another.
I'm a little tired right now, so I'm gonna go chill out for a bit, visit some people before I have to leave the village, then I'll finish this up.
